Outlook

Featured in 425 Magazine, this Seattle residence underwent a complete structural and aesthetic transformation that left no detail untouched. The project involved a comprehensive reimagining of the home’s footprint, from a new kitchen layout and updated bathrooms to the integration of bespoke architectural finishes. The design balances a refined, neutral palette with bold material contrasts, creating a home that feels both sophisticated and high-energy.

  • The remodel is defined by a rigorous attention to materiality and custom craftsmanship. In the kitchen, dark cabinetry is offset by beige tadelakt walls and a matching backsplash, providing a soft, tactile counterpoint to the precision of the cabinetry design. This play of light and shadow continues into the bathrooms, where a moody, dark aesthetic in one space contrasts with graphic black and white tiling in others.

The interior is unified by the Michelle Dirkse Collection, featuring custom drapery and rugs that anchor the varied art collection within the home. We curated the furnishings as a mix of iconic silhouettes and existing pieces, which we revitalized using Michelle Dirkse Collection fabrics. Throughout the residence, sculptural art and functional everyday selections in unexpected materials create a layered, gallery-like atmosphere that remains deeply livable.
