Windermere

Classic Mid-century

Featured in GRAY Magazine and 425 Magazine, this Seattle project is a dedicated study in shape, form, and texture. Utilizing a background in psychology to create an environment that supports the internal life of the home, the design moves beyond standard decoration to establish a sense of spatial order. By prioritizing the permanent over the decorative, we created a residence in Windermere that remains independent of fleeting trends while specifically highlighting the expansive art collection of the homeowners.

  • Since the architectural remodel was already complete, we relied on a sophisticated selection of furniture and decor to redefine the atmosphere of the home. The palette features neutrals paired with desaturated orange and green tones, mixing wood, metal, stone, leather, concrete, and glass to complement the existing cabinetry and flooring. In the primary living area, a sculptural Vladimir Kagan sofa upholstered in outdoor velvet offers a durable yet high-design solution for frequent entertaining.

The private suites continue this textural story with mid-century blue wallpaper and custom hand-knotted rugs. In the primary bedroom, we integrated vintage nightstands and a dresser from the same archival line, selecting pieces with different finishes to introduce a layer of curated history. Throughout the home, luxe drapery and custom textiles add architectural depth, ensuring the final arrangement holds its nerve without asking for approval.
