Lake washington residence
Our clients had the foresight to see the “good bones” of their new home and enlisted us bring it to life. We completely remodeled the kitchen with a mix of white and rift-cut white oak cabinets, new quartz counter tops, marble slab backsplash, new lighting and new minimal plumbing and appliances. We even hid two wall mounted ovens on the kitchen side of the island to accommodate their large Sunday weekly cooking routines. Our clients requested a “wow” moment that would shock visitors in the guest bathroom. With the shower rarely used, we had the opportunity to add a customized wallpaper panel and moody accents. The master bathroom is much more open with our new layout and shines with new fixtures, fittings and finishes. The remaining remodel elements included paint, lighting and refinishing of the existing oak hardwood floors. For the fireplace, our clients asked for no mantel. We created a “reverse mantel” with the upper half of the entire length of the wall protruding a few inches further than the new steel facade that we designed.
When our clients asked for permission to buy two quirky vintage head sculptures from one of our favorite vintage shops, we knew that we could create something unexpected and extra special through furniture and decor. Against the clean modern architectural backdrop that we created, we added modern furniture with unexpected decor and art accents. The overall result is a mix of surprise, delight, comfort and ease.
