Michelle Dirkse Interior Design (“we,” “us” or “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through michelledirkse.com, how we use it and the choices you have.

Information you give us

When you fill out our contact form, we collect the details you enter, such as your name, email address, phone number, project address, project type, home square footage, budget ranges and what you share about your project.

When you email us, including to request a quote or place an order from our wallpaper and fabric collections, we receive your email address and anything you include in your message, such as a shipping address.

Information collected automatically

Our website is hosted by Squarespace. When you visit, Squarespace collects standard technical information, such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view and how you arrived at the site. Squarespace uses cookies and similar technologies to run the site, keep it secure and give us visitor statistics, which we see in aggregate.

How we use your information

We use your information to respond to your inquiry and talk with you about your project, provide our design services, complete orders you request, keep our business records and meet legal and tax requirements, understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it, and protect our website and forms from spam and misuse.

How we share your information

We don’t sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run our website, such as Squarespace (website hosting and forms), Google (spam protection through reCAPTCHA and the map on our contact page) and Adobe (website fonts), and only as needed for them to provide those services. We may also share information when the law requires it, to protect our rights or with your permission.

Cookies

Squarespace places cookies that the site needs to work and cookies that help us understand how the site is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work as well without them. We don’t use advertising cookies or ad tracking pixels.

How long we keep information

We keep inquiry and client information for as long as we need it for the purposes above, including our business and legal records, and then delete it.

How we protect information

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, and our website runs on Squarespace’s secure (HTTPS) platform. No way of sending or storing information online is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.

Your choices

You can ask us to see, correct or delete the personal information we have about you by emailing admin@michelledirkse.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, and we’ll honor requests as the law requires.

Children’s privacy

Our website isn’t intended for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information.

Our site links to other websites, such as our social media pages, Dirkse/Prim Gallery and press features. Those sites have their own privacy practices, so we encourage you to read their policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the date at the top of this page.
