Gramercy Park

Manhattan Residence

Located in the historic Gramercy Park neighborhood of Manhattan, this residence serves as a vibrant city retreat for the owners. The goal was to bridge the gap between the glamour of Studio 54 and the raw edge of CBGB, creating a space with a visceral sense of place. Since the new-construction condominium was architecturally sound but lacked a distinct point of view, our work focused entirely on a transformative layer of furniture, lighting, and textiles to establish a cinematic atmosphere.

  • In the living area, we utilized a deep limewash wall treatment to provide a moody, textured backdrop for a luxury leather sectional and a custom brass console. A desaturated rust asymmetrical rug and smoked glass table anchor the room, while bronze-toned sheers filter the Manhattan light. To fully embrace the disco inspiration, we topped the coffee table with a melting disco ball sculpture.

The bedrooms continue this narrative of curated rebellion. In the primary suite, we paired a leather bed and simple linen bedding with abstract wallpaper and a plush shag rug repurposed from the clients’ previous residence. The guest room takes a more direct cue from the underground music scene, featuring graffiti-inspired wallpaper, a leather desk, and unexpected vice pillows. By mixing high-end custom finishes with gritty, playful accents, we transformed a standard luxury unit into a singular urban sanctuary.
